- Standard Suitable Working Conditions for Wheel Mucking Loader
1.1 Roadway Floor & Ground Requirements
Wheel mucking loaders run on solid mining tires, performing best on hard, flat, dry roadway floors, including concrete ground, steel plates and compact gravel surfaces.
- Suitable ground: flat gravel, cement roadway, track-laid tunnel with no long-term mud or soft soil;
- Unsuitable ground: muddy, waterlogged, loose soil, ground covered with sharp broken rocks, which easily cause tire slipping and trapping;
- Drainage standard: complete drainage system on working face, no standing water soaking tires and chassis.
1.2 Slope Limitation
Tires provide limited friction, so climbing capacity is weaker than crawler mucking machines:
- Standard models: max climbing slope ≤12°; heavy-duty 4WD reinforced models: maximum 15°;
- Only applicable for horizontal tunnels & gentle slopes. Inclined roadways over 15° are forbidden to avoid sliding and brake failure.
1.3 Roadway Cross-section Size
Model ZWY-60/80 fits roadway section ≥2.2m×2.2m; large-capacity ZWY-100 requires section ≥2.6m×2.6m.
Articulated steering design brings small turning radius, flexible reversing in medium-small flat tunnels. For ultra-narrow roadways less than 2m, crawler loaders are recommended instead.
1.4 Muck & Loading Operation Conditions
Designed for regular small broken rock, coal and sandstone after blasting, maximum single rock block ≤600mm.
High continuous mucking efficiency on horizontal tunnels, travel speed 5~15km/h, ideal for frequent transfer between multiple working faces. Not suitable for heavy hard rock or collapsed massive rock excavation.

- Explosion-proof electric version: for gassy coal mines, closed underground tunnels with stable 380V power supply;
- Diesel version: for field tunnels without external power supply, short-distance open pit projects.

- Inclined roadways, downhill tunnels with slope over 15°;
- Roadways with permanent ponding, mud or loose soft soil;

- High-concentration gassy mines (non-explosion-proof wheel loader prohibited);
- Ultra-narrow tunnels less than 2m, severely damaged bumpy floors.
